‘Shade’ by Paul Bisson

You are not where you were,
at the cheery margins of this sudden world.
As the day’s face hardens over dawn’s surprise
Wrestling rebel eyes I sift the filaments
From which the warming sense of you was wove,
Finding that
you are not where you were.

And this is enough, I suppose.
