Catherine Helier is a Jersey born writer of poetry and prose. Educated at Mont Nicolle and Beaulieu Convent schools, she left the island at 16 to move to Devon with her family and is living there with her son. Catherine is currently studying to go into teaching.
Catherine developed a passion for writing during the creative writing modules in her degree, finding the process very cathartic. Her first published work ‘Invisible Fractures’ is a collection of poetry. It mirrors the frustrations, isolation and elation during a tumultuous year of her life. Many of the poems were written on the island and her first work of fiction that she is in the process of writing is based in Jersey. Catherine finds her inspiration at its best whilst taking early morning walks along St. Ouens beach on one of her many visits home.
Updates on her work can be found on Twitter at @CatherineHelier and on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CatherineHelierJerseyCI
